Kmarko's DraftKings Picks - January 19
Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
Not the most ideal MLK Day.
Blog picks only hit 122 points combined. CP3 crushed with a 69, but Jimmy Butler was just mediocre and Kyrie bombed in that disgusting Cavs game.
Only 4 games on the slate tonight so not as fun, but we can still dive in and try to win some money.
SF Danilo Gallinari $7.1K
Gallo is my BOY. Love Gallo. Feel like every time I play him he comes through for me with a nice fat 40-50 point score and a blazing hot flames emoji next to it. And only 7.1K? Wayyy to cheap for his production at a thin position. Kevin Durant and Paul George are 2 guys you’ll definitely be tempted to spend up for tonight, and with good reason – but for 2-3K cheaper you can get a mid range guy with great upside in what should be a very fast paced high scoring matchup.
SG Will Barton $6.1K
Not my favorite move to start with 2 guys from the same team, but the value on the Nuggets tonight is way too good for me to overlook. Speaking of overlook – Barton’s ownership has plummeted off a cliff lately after a string of horrible games. After a stretch where he was dropping 50 a night and seeing his price skyrocket up to the mid 7s, he regressed back and pretty much feel off the radar over the past 2 weeks. Well it looks like he’s finding his groove again, and with a price bordering on bargain territory, there’s really not much downside here – a guy with a nice safe 30 point floor and 50+ upside in, like I said, a fast paced game.
VALUE PLAY PF Markieff Morris $4.8K
Don’t look now…no seriously, don’t look now. Markieff Morris is out of the doghouse and I don’t want anyone to notice it so we can keep playing him at ridiculously low ownership. After months of DNP-CDs, constant trade rumors, constant stories of fights with the coaches and front office…Morris is actually getting some run, and putting up some numbers. Averaging around 30 minutes and 30 fantasy points over his past 3 in what looks like a pretty clear case of trying to get his trade value up – which I’m totally fine with, as long as we can capitalize on it.
Featured Plays Total Tournament Goal: 108 (6x value)
Other guys to consider… Anthony Davis has been a lineup killer all season, but now that his price is coming down I always like taking a shot on a guy with 80 point upside. Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade are 2 guys I never like playing, but are definitely in good spots carrying that Miami offense. Brandon Knight has been disappointing lately but could be a high upside guy for tonight, while Giannis is an interesting pivot away from Gallo at SF.
In value play territory, once again I’ll have Tyler Johnson in most of my lineups, as well as Jokic locked in to my center spot in the ones where I can’t afford Whiteside.
…
That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.
